Corona virus, a fast- spreading viral infection has infected thousands of people, leaving most cities in China under lock-down.

The deadly respiratory infection has so far claimed more than 2,000 lives exceeding the 774 figure killed in the 2003 Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome {SARS } epidemic, This has necessitated the World Health Oragnisation to declare a global emergency.

Over 60 Nigerians, some of them students are reportedly stranded in Wuhan, the epicentre of this outbreak . There are fears that bringing back home these Nigerians may spread the virus .

But how genuine are these fears ?

Gist Nigeria takes a look at the scourge, how Nigerians living in that part of the world are surviving the spread of the virus and how prepared Africa is for a possible global epidemic.
